Textile pressing · low-risk foundation
A conservative pressing workflow that prioritizes care-label limits, protective cloth, gradual escalation and stop conditions rather than universal heat settings.
Required evidence
- fiber/content label
- care label or manufacturer guidance
- small-area compatibility check
Controlled steps
- Read the care label or material guidance and identify any no-iron, low-heat or special-finish restriction.Stop if the material identity or care boundary is unknown.
- Test on an inconspicuous area with the least aggressive compatible setting and a clean pressing cloth where appropriate.Stop for shine, distortion, color change, odor or finish transfer.
- Press in short controlled contacts, checking the surface between passes rather than holding heat continuously.Allow the material to cool and reassess before escalating.
Quality and limitations
QC: no gloss or scorching · no distortion · no color/finish transfer · shape improves without surface damage
Limitations: Educational low-risk foundation only. Confirm material compatibility and manufacturer care instructions before applying to a valued item.
